Knight's Errand
Short Description
Gather your army. Defeat other players' avatars. Claim the champion's title. Knight's Errand is a concentrated dose of tactical nostalgia, designed for quick and intense sessions. Pure tactics, no filler.
About the Game
Remember the golden age of turn-based strategy? Knight's Errand distills that experience into fast, 30-minute tournament runs. No the sprawling campaigns and save-scumming, only what truly matters: your tactical skill.
The core loop is simple and addictive: Shop → Battle → Shop. You are the commander on a classic hexagonal battlefield. Every decision is yours, and every choice is final. Recruit new units, upgrade your squads, and immediately test your evolving army against the "ghosts" of other players' creations.
With five lives for your entire tournament run, mistakes will cost you, but a single tactical blunder won't end your journey. It's the perfect balance of high-stakes tension and the freedom to dare.
Key Features
- Classic Tactical Combat: Engage in turn-based battles with stacks of units on a hexagonal grid.
- Asynchronous Multiplayer: Fight against "ghost" armies of other players at any time. No waiting for an opponent!
- Pure Gameplay, No Fluff: The entire experience is focused on what matters most: assembling your army and fighting battles.
- Roguelike Mechanics: With a limited number of lives per run, every decision is final.
Controls
- PC: Fully playable with the mouse.
- Mobile: A web version with touch controls is available.
This Is Just the Beginning
Knight's Errand is currently a prototype that serves as the foundation for a much larger game. The core combat and tournament loop are fully implemented with one playable faction (Humans). A full run takes about 30 minutes.
This project is under active development. Future updates will bring:
- Battle AI and QoL improvements.
- New factions with unique units.
- Active and passive abilities for creatures.
- Different heroes with progression and items.
- Morale and critical hit systems, and much more.
From the Developer
I'm a solo developer with a background as a producer at an indie publisher. I helped release games like Heretic's Fork, Legendary Hoplite, and Necrobouncer. Since early 2024, I decided to focus on developing games myself. Last year I released a small free game called Doodle Cats. Knight's Errand is my first big project after going solo. I hope you enjoy what I've created. Your support helps me continue this journey.

Thank you for letting me know! I fixed it. Now mobile version is working, it's still have a limited functionality, but you can try the game at least. Thank you very much!
I can never resist anything HoMM3. Nobody has managed to capture that magic since, and we need more people trying. Good luck.
Note: You can dupe units by drag-dropping to open the split unit menu, then clicking on an empty slot to move the unit, then confirming the position in the split unit menu. This was very funny when I met the mirror match.
Oh! That's an awesome bug! Thank you so much for finding it. I'll fix it right now! Also, if anything else comes to mind that could make the game better, please share your thoughts!
Fixed! Thank you again! If you find any other exploits, please, let me know.
